   Lot of thanks, Herr Hauslanden. Really, many developers is starting to use new Delphi only after IdeFixPack is out. Waiting, like third service pack for Windows in production in old days 🙂 . So, is there any chance for update VCL Fixpack with your current improvements?

   When I run IDEFixPackReg2009.exe I get:

   [Window Title]
   IDE Fix Pack Installer/Uninstaller

   [Main Instruction]
   Incorrect RAD Studio installation detected

   [Content]
   HKCU\Software\CodeGear\BDS\6.0 does not have a valid “RootDir” entry.

   I have no such key in my registry (No codeGear folder under HKCU). I’m wondering if it’s complaining about something else in my registry, and just using a hard coded (and rather out of date looking) error message.

   Hello,
   Thank you a lot for your IDE Fix Pack 5.9 for RAD Studio 2009-XE8. The IDE loading is incredibly fast.

   Then I installed fastddc32 and 64 for XE8, but the compilation times are not reduced from command line? What I am doing wrong?

      The fastdccXxx.exe was the Delphi 2009 version that searched for fastdccXxHook.dll instead of the “dllx” (that is necessary due to the stupid copy protection).

      I have re-uploaded the fastdcc 5.9 version of XE7 and XE8 that now contain the correct “launcher” program.

   Hello,
   It seems if you start RAD Studio XE8 without an internet connection, it still takes a very long time to get going. The whole process takes here about 90(!) seconds, for the first minute only the splash screen is displayed and the launcher freezes, and then package loading starts with some interruptions which take another half minute. I don’t think the SSD is the bottleneck.

   What can I do about it?

      Write Embarcadero’s CEO a nice email and tell him that their copy protection hurts legal customers.

    Hi,
    after install when starts Delphi XE8 I receive this error:

    Not all IDE Fix Pack patches were applied. Failed patches:
    failed: faster IDE startup [IDE.Startup.Fast]

    why ? I have Delphi XE8 enterprise

       Let me guess: You have Windows 10 which isn’t supported by IDE Fix Pack yet.

          You can skip that patch by setting the global environment variable

          IDEFixPack.DisabledPatches=IDE.Startup.Fast

    I am using IdeFixPack from the first releases, but now I have very often IDE crash with this IdeFixPack, for XE5-XE6-XE7-XE8.
    I am using only C++Builder personality, Windows 8.1-x64 and my applications also x64.
    The IDE have crashed during compilation of the program, after removing of the IdeFixPack IDE is rather stable.
    I’ve tested also 5.91 for XE8 and have the same crash.
