The new IDE Fix Pack 4.2 is now available.
Changes from 4.1 to 4.2 (2011-06-20)
- Added: Prevent IDE deadlocks
- Added: HelpInsight parsing is done in the background when moving the mouse over an identifier (2009/2010)
- Added: Much improved IDE startup performance
- Added: Some old Debugger C-RTL functions are replaced by much faster versions
- Removed: No search for non-existing $(WINDIR)\Globalization files on IDE start (caused problems)

By the way, should one install your IDE fix pack and Delphi speed up together or could this be a problem?
For Delphi 2007 you can use both. DelphiSpeedUp for 2007 shares the performance optimizations that also apply to older Delphi versions whereas IDEFixPack’s optimizations only apply to the Galileo IDE.
I was trying to upgrade to 4.2 for some time now, haven’t had the chance before today, the speed is remarkable, I’ve been using 4.1 before.

Hangs on compilation. In that case ‘Cancel’ button is not working on ‘Compilation’ window. Trying to exit Delphi cause ‘Cancel background operation’ warning and still pressing ‘Yes’ can do nothing.
Severe problem indeed.
Does this also happen with version 4.1 ?
Are you using the background compiler? If so, turn it off. With it IDE deadlocks are preprogrammed.
