New Blog and Tools-Homepage

By | October 2, 2008

I’ve now combined all my tools and unit homepages into my new WordPress blog. This makes it easier for you to get an overview of all my tools/units and for me it becomes easier to keep all things together. The old homepage was a hand-crafted html page with some little php scripts from 2004. The new page is now a CMS system which allows me to change the pages without nodepad.

Where is DLangExtensions?

It is in my SVN repository but all development has stopped months ago. There is no way to get the current code base working for Delphi 2009 and even if I would release a new version in the far future, it won’t contain the template/generics feature. By adding this I made the code base so complex and slow that I don’t want them in the code anymore. Furthermore with Delphi 2009 we have Generics now.

    Hello, Andreas.
    Thank you for your tools.
    One suggestion.
DDevextensions -> Key Bindings -> Extended Ctrl+Left|Right arrows:
Is it possible to make this tool more extended?
    1. Stop on sign «_»
    2. Stop before capital in «compound» identifiers (MyObject, firstID)
In case «firstID» ignore other capital after «I»
Let these additions to be optional (check boxes).

    With best regards,
    Dmitry.

Your new web site looks great !
Can you tell us which CMS system is in use ?

@Dimitry: Good points. I’ll add them to the keybinding in the next version

@Stephane: It’s WordPress with the Atahualpa theme.

Very nice looking new site you got up here. Noticed you updated DDevExtensions for Delphi 2009. How about a DelphiSpeedUp for Delphi 2009, is it on the way?

Keep up the good work, it’s really appreciated,
    Jens

At the moment there is no need for a DelphiSpeedUp for Delphi 2009. Delphi 2009 is faster than Delphi 2007 with an installed DelphiSpeedUp.

There’s a problem with the restricted comment function in WordPress and Internet Explorer. I’ve now lowered the rules for comments. This means anonymous comments and comments without an email address are allowed.

IDE Compiler Plugin 1.0 iys a great!
but if i set breakpopint on my code and select 2007 compiler this breakpoint not work, if 2009 compiler its work.

ps and where can i post my comments on your IDE Tools?

  9. Andreas Hausladen Post author

The IDE Compiler Plugin is only for the compiler. There is no way for me to get the debugger working. I’m not CodeGear.

I don’t know how many times I have been on your new home page since Oct 2nd, only to just now realize you are using the same theme I am using. I really like this theme, glad to see you like it too.

I like the new layout, also for you WP would be easier to update and mantain than the old web page.

I hope you will have some time to add RAD Studio 2009 support.

    sir
    DDevExtensions 1.9.1
I used your tool on Delphi 2006, great
But on Delphi 2009 i have entry point problem with the delphi bpl
i had the same with gexpert but there i could compile the source and use the dll.
Now to the point since i understand you do not want to give the source away is it
posible may be to get the dcu with a dpr
so i can compile it here ?
    Thanks shlomo

    Delphi 2009 Version 12.0.3155.16733
Is a product version is a problem?
since dcu changes only apply to Delphi number,as far as i know , 4,5,6,7,8,…..

  15. Andreas Hausladen Post author

Yes it is, because leaked FieldTests versions are not 100% compatible with the release version. The DCU file format version may be equal but the IDE, VCL and RTL are not guaranteed to be stable because of new bugfixes.

  16. shlomo

Ok thanks (i am always learning some thing new)
in any case it will be nice to have ,if possible, the dcu dpr

    Hello, Andreas.

Problem with DDevextensions -> Key Bindings -> Extended Ctrl+Left|Right arrows:
On RUSSIAN words cursor moves by one char, not by word.

    With best regards,
    Dmitry.
